Make your own granola?! Yes way! Most granolas have added sugars and a lot of fat. If you make yours at home, you can control exactly what goes into it, not to mention, it’s a lot less expensive. We use organic peanut butter, oats, and local maple syrup. Can’t get more simple. You can sub out the peanut butter for any nut butter of your choosing. This recipe was adapted from our friend Melissa Paul Goldberg.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups rolled oats
- 3/4 cup organic crunchy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (you could use honey)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions:
- Mix ingredients in a bowl
- Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and smoosh granola in to pan, coating evenly
- Bake at 350 for 40 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes
- Store in glass canning jars and serve sprinkled with yogurt or mix with dried fruit and nuts for an afternoon snack
