Tropical Blueberry Smoothie: Vegan

April 17, 2014 By Garden Fresh Foodie

Vegan Tropical Blueberry SmoothieFruit is packed with powerful anti-oxidants that reduce your risk of all forms of cancer, heart disease, and other inflammatory diseases.  Varying your fruit and vegetable intake, as well as greatly increasing it, will help you to fight many diseases.  Smoothies are easy ways to pack in your pyhtonutrients (phtyo=plant) as well as a delicious way to start your day or as a snack. We store bananas that start to turn in the freezer for a quick and easy way to cream up a smoothie or make an instant “ice cream”.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 mango, peeled and cored
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 2 tbsp hemp protein powder (fine to omit, or use alternative low/no sugar protein powder)
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 8 ice cubes (unless bananas are frozen, and then omit)
  • 1 tsp cinnamontropical blueberry smoothie ingredients

Instructions:

  • Blend in a powerful blender like a Vita-Mix and serve! Best to eat right away. As fruit sits exposed to air it oxidizes and looses some of its beneficial nutrients.Tropical Blueberry Smoothie
